Please help Star Anise search for Branch Commander Twig! He must be out there somewhere.

A PICO-8 game I made over the past 12 days! It's sort of a test version of a larger Star Anise game we've wanted to make for a while (and hopefully will get to next). Like a Game Boy Color port, except released before the original? I don't know. Point is, if you like this, you'll definitely like Star Anise 2, which is this but more, and also with a gun.

Controls are arrow keys and Z/X. Supposedly there are also mobile controls and controller support. No idea how well this iframe will work; if it doesn't, you could try it on itch instead.
